How to Cook Ginataang Bilo-bilo 

I remember when i was a kid in our province eating Bilo-bilo with my family. Even though we are poor since birth, we can afford to cook and eat this delicious food. With a very affordable engriedients, so as you can prepare this merienda menu .

Cooking Bili-bilo is very easy to cook as long as you have the Sago cooked and the gluti rice balls ready.

The coconut milk Bilo-bilo with a combination of Jack Fruit is a Filipino snack dish. It has an engridients of glutinous rice balls, coconut cream,sugar, sago pearls, and ripe jack fruit. Lots of people say, that this is considered as a simplified version ng Ginataang Halo Halo.

The process of cooking involves a little bit of boiling, stirring, and mixing. You only need to enjoy ang delicious Filipino snack in no time.

All you have to do is boil water in a pot. Add coconut cream once the water boils. Stir and add the sugar. Just make sure to add ripe jackfruit into the pot and cook for around 15 minutes between a low to medium heat while the pot is covered. This will transform the flavors from the jackfruit and transfer it into the sweet coconut milk mixture. This is where the flavors of this dessert/snack starts to form. Just follow instructions and you are ready to cook.

Instructions

  • Pour the water in a cooking pot. Bring to a boil.
  • Add the coconut cream. Stir and cook until the mixture starts to boil again.
  • Gradually stir-in the sugar.
  • Add the ripe jackfruit. Cover and cook in low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Add-in the bilo-bilo. Continue to cook for another 15 minutes while stirring every 3 minutes.
  • Put-in the sago. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve.

Ingredients

  • 20 pieces glutinous rice balls (Bilo-bilo)
  • 20 oz jackfruit ripe, sliced
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups coconut cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups tapioca pearls cooked
